Kate Sterling drives “dramatic” overhaul of DDB Melb

Like most agencies, DDB Melbourne was grappling with how to operate in the new world order of advertising. It hasn’t had stable leadership for several years, it had four internal agencies working on different bottom lines and was facing an increasingly cluttered Melbourne market.
So, when Kate Sterling joined the agency as group managing director in February, she was tasked with rebuilding the business – no small feat for the agency that had shrunk from 120 people to 75 in recent years. She replaced former managing director Dion Appel who departed the business after two years in the role.
